It acts to improve insulin resistance by promoting mitochondrial biogenesis in high fructose diet fed STZ induced diabetic rats. Besides, 4-Hydroxyisoleucine could remarkably improve high glucose-induced IR in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Meanwhile, 4-HIL could inhibit the secretion of TNF-alpha.
